Although the winter has not been exceptionally
cold, snow has been on the ground since mid-December. As a result, many
people have spoken about how the winter has seemed extra long. As the snow
melts and spring begins, outdoor activities beckon. Fishing, gardening,
camping, and boating are just some of things many of you are eager to take
up once more. Spring promises green lawns and trees. Hibernation is over.
When we celebrate Easter, we are participating in the promise God has
made to His church and His people. Like the reawakening of the Earth after
a long winter, Jesus' resurrection points to the new life God intends for
all people. Unfortunately, too many remain frozen to old habits and dreary
lives. You may know someone like that. First, pray for the person. Next,
tell about how God loves him or her. Finally, invite that friend (or
family member) to join you in worship. This kind of gardening is a great
blessing. Plant a seed of faith.
